How can I set up the Wero App?

Before you begin

Your bank chooses how you can use Wero. If your bank has integrated Wero directly into its mobile banking app you'll have access to Wero from your regular banking app and you don't need the Wero app.

If your bank supports Wero through the Wero app, get it from the App Store or the Play Store.

Step 1: Install and open the app

Once you've downloaded, installed and opened the app, you will need to:

  • Accept our Terms and Conditions
  • Accept cookies

Step 2: Set up security

Wero uses the same security method configured on your device. This could be: passcode, fingerprint, face or pattern, depending on your device.
 
Pro Tip: If you haven’t set up a screen lock on your phone yet, you’ll need to do so in your device settings before continuing.

Step 3: Connect your bank account

  1. Select your bank in the app
  2. You will be redirected to your mobile banking app to approve the connection. Please note you will have to sign into your banking app in the usual way.
  3. Once approved, you will be automatically redirected back to Wero.

After you have connected your bank, you will also be prompted to enable notifications so you don’t miss any updates.

Step 4: Add a phone number or an email address

Don't forget to also add a phone number or an email address. We will send you verification code to enter in order to ensure it's really you.
Pro Tip: Without a saved phone number or email address, you can send money but won’t be able to receive it unless you request it, since your friends won’t be able to find you.
Pro Tip: Each phone number or email address can be associated with only one bank account at a time, as this determines where funds are sent and received.

You have now:

  • Downloaded the Wero app

  • Accepted our Terms & Conditions and cookies

  • Connected your bank account

  • Enabled notifications to never miss an updated

  • Linked your bank account to your phone number or email address

You are now ready to send or receive payments securely and safely with Wero!
