Do I need to share my bank details in order to receive payments?

No — you do not need to share your bank account details to send or receive payments with Wero. 

To send a payment, you just need the phone number or email address linked to the recipient’s Wero account - and this is the only information you need to give anyone who wants to send you money. 

Your bank may however share certain details like the sender's IBAN or name within official bank statements. Please reach out to your bank directly for more information. 

If you ever receive a text message, email, or call asking for your bank account number, IBAN, or other sensitive details in relation to a Wero payment, do not respond. This is a scam — report it to your bank and Wero immediately. 

To report any fraudulent message, link or other to Wero, open the FAQ chatbot in the bottom right corner of the webpage, select 'Report a Fraud' and follow the steps to report any suspicious activity to us.
