Switching from Payconiq to Wero is designed to be as smooth as possible. Here is what you need to know about QR code payments.
Whether you want to send money to a friend or family member, pay an invoice, place an order online or just pay in-store using a QR code, you can do it all with the Wero app. Your payments work exactly the same way they did with Payconiq; but they're now powered by Wero.

Having trouble scanning a QR code in the Wero app?
If you are having an error or the scan does not initiate, please verify the following:
Wrong code type: The Wero app only works with Payconiq in-store or invoice codes. It won't scan personal or online merchant QR codes from the Payconiq app.
Merchant not ready: For online payments, the merchant may not have activated Wero yet. If an online merchant's QR code is not recognised, it is likely that their payment system has not transitioned to Wero yet.
Old tech: Starting January 1st, 2027 you will no longer be able to scan Payconiq QR codes.
💡Good to know:
For a smoother experience and greater security, we recommend scanning QR codes directly from the Wero app rather than using your phone's native camera. This saves you time by avoiding unnecessary redirections, and any non-genuine Wero QR codes will be rejected automatically.
